The range of Yerba Buena barely reaches into northern L.A, so it is not local to southern California, yet this is still a great native garden species for San Diego. Though it will not necessarily provide local pollinators food, it is still eaten by many wild critters, and is great for human use! Yerba Buena has a very minty flavor, makes an excellent tea, and(in our opinion) is especially good used raw in salads. A great creeping species with tiny white flowers, great for ground cover or container gardens. Just don’t choose a full sun area.
