Coyote Bush is a very common and adaptable native shrub that stays evergreen and hosts many native insects and pollinators like Gall Wasps. This is a great shrub for various landscape applications as its long lived and not too large, seldom reaching near 10ft. It also responds well to being pruned, so can be kept to a smaller size if needed. An easy reliable evergreen shrub that should not be slept on.
Although flowers are not too showy, they have a long season to bloom, and help support a lot of native wildlife. Female plants produce clouds of fluffy seeds, and they can sprout up as volunteers fairly easily, so it is often found as one of the first plants to regrow in disturbed habitat.
